2024: The year of durable carbon dioxide removal

About The Webinar

Carbon dioxide removal (CDR) with durable storage will be a crucial part of rebalancing the planet. But today, only 0.1% of global, annual CDR (representing 0.002 GtCO₂) comes from novel, durable methods. In a new report, BCG projects worldwide demand for durable CDR to reach approximately 40 million–200 million tonnes (Mt) by 2030 — while the announced supply is just ~15–32 Mt.

The next few years will represent a turning point for these types of climate solutions.

Corporate sustainability leaders and project developers alike need to start planning for this sea change in demand for CDR. 2024 will be a pivotal year in determining the scale and effectiveness of CDR by 2030 and beyond. Join us to explore both sides of the equation as BCG takes us through the latest trends and findings from their report and CarbonCure shares their insights on how project developers are preparing for the increase in demand.

In this webinar, you’ll learn:

  • What the latest CDR purchasing trends are and why there is a continued emphasis on quality
  • How project developers are preparing for an increase in demand
  • Ways to mitigate future purchasing risk
