How REI is driving climate action within and beyond its value chain: The Climate Label and internal carbon pricing as drivers for climate impact

About The Webinar
Corporate sustainability leaders are increasingly empowered to drive climate-positive decisions across their companies. But knowing what the right choices are for your business as well as for the planet can be difficult — then enacting those choices efficiently can be even harder. Certification programs can offer both a label for bolstering a company’s climate claims to customers and a blueprint for action. Internal carbon pricing likewise offers leaders a mechanism to embed sustainable decision-making at the company level.
REI, the nation’s largest consumer co-operative and outdoor retailer, has made climate action a key priority in its mission to connect every person to the power of the outdoors and engage them in the fight to protect it. As a pilot company for The Climate Label that’s actively pursuing certification in 2025, REI will share tactical insights and perspectives on this updated framework that can apply to your organization, regardless of where you are in your climate journey.
In late 2024, the NGO “The Change Climate Project” (formerly Climate Neutral) introduced a significant update to its leading consumer-facing certification and label program. The Climate Label framework helps companies leverage internal carbon pricing to drive funding to projects that reduce emissions in their operations, supply chain, or carbon credit projects outside of their direct control.
This webinar will also have a live Q&A session where our experts will address your specific implementation challenges and questions.
