Mary Yap is co-founder and CEO at Lithos Carbon, a company transforming farmland into carbon removal centers using the power of volcanic rocks and rigorous scientific measurement. Mary studied plant biology at The University of Chicago and geology and planetary sciences at Yale University, where she conducted award-winning scientific and urban research on the climate crisis. Mary started her journey in entrepreneurship at the age of 18 and spent 6+ years building early-stage startups before devoting her life to climate solutions. She's created products used by millions of customers and scaled them internationally. Outside Lithos, Mary is an avid nature enthusiast and photographer with work featured in National Geographic. Mary's family are generational farmers in Taiwan.
