Scope 1 emissions are direct GHG emissions that a company generates from its owned and controlled resources. This includes generation of electricity, manufacture and processing of materials, waste processing, and transportation using the company’s own vehicle fleet.

Scope 2 emissions are the indirect emissions generated from the generation of purchased energy from a utility provider.

Scope 3 emissions are all indirect emissions (not included in Scope 2) that occur in the value chain of a company. These emissions are a consequence of the company’s business activities, including both upstream and downstream emissions.

Product / Life Cycle Assessment refers to carbon footprint and lifecycle analysis for a specific product or service. For example the footprint of manufacturing a specific product.

Transaction refers to carbon footprint analysis based on a specific purchase or transaction. For example, the footprint of buying a product from an ecommerce website.

The partner offers a technology solution, such as a web app that provides functionality for the client.

The partner conducts its services, and provides transparency, audit, and verification that ensures the product, service or output is ready to be independently audited and approved. This is most often relevant for public corporations and reporting — a company standard being ISO-14064.
