COP29 in Azerbaijan
Patch will join leaders in Baku to advance climate finance
The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change will host the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) this year in Baku, Azerbaijan from November 11th through November 22nd. Bringing together UN member countries and public and private stakeholders from across the world, the meeting this year will be particularly focused on adopting the new collective quantitative goals (NCQGs) to deliver climate finance required to achieve Paris Agreement goals.
Patch will have a delegation on the ground in Baku, engaging with both public and private sector leaders around gaps and opportunities to scale climate finance, including the important role carbon markets play in these efforts.

Bridging the Gap: Practical Solutions and Strategic Partnerships for Scaling Climate Finance
According to recent estimates, less developed countries require some $2.4trillion in funding every year until 2030 if they are to transition their economies away from carbon, adapt to climate impacts, and meet the goals of the Paris Agreement. If we are to rebalance the planet, it’s clear we must close the gap on climate finance.
More than ever, public and private sector leaders will need to work together on developing practical solutions and forming meaningful partnerships that can help unlock capital at speed and scale.
With climate finance forming a key focus of the negotiations at COP29, Patch will convene corporate sustainability leaders, policymakers, executives of standards bodies, and experts to map the challenges and opportunities – with an emphasis on the role carbon markets can play in the transition.
This event takes place on Tuesday, November 12th and is by invitation only.Dinner and discussion: Building a sophisticated carbon credit strategy in the new era of climate ambition
A robust carbon credit strategy will soon be a core part of any credible climate strategy. So how should corporates be preparing for this new era of climate ambition? Patch is bringing together corporate leaders and learners for dinner and a constructive conversation about how to build and execute high-integrity carbon credit strategies.
